Rob Bell Continues with JMW for 2011
Leading sportscar race driver, Rob Bell, will remain with JMW Motorsport for the 2011 season, returning to the Le Mans Series with the new Ferrari 458 Italia GT2 car, continued support from Dunlop and a new team mate, James Walker.
Double Le Mans Series champion, Bell, will race in the five round Le Mans Series and the famed 24 Hours of Le Mans with the team and the new-for-2011 Ferrari.
Bell says, "I have built a great relationship with JMW Motorsport and I am delighted to have been offered the chance to continue with the team in 2011. Campaigning the Ferrari 458 brings a new challenge for me and the team, but it's the next generation model with plenty of development potential so I am sure it will be competitive and return the team to the podium this season.
"I've already had the chance to drive the Ferrari 458, racing with Extreme Speed Motorsports at the Sebring 12 Hours and I hope that my experience can help us to get quickly on the pace. The team has only just received the car, so we are keeping our expectations realistic for Paul Ricard, the first round."
"Returning to Le Mans for another crack at the top honours is also an opportunity I'm relishing. It will be my fifth time there, but I haven't managed to stand on the podium yet, so this year I'm hoping to go the distance and finish in the top three. It's definitely the highlight of the year for me, although I've already raced in two of the classic races this year, having done Daytona 24 and Sebring 12 hours and both of those are great events."
Bell concludes, "My priority for 2011 will be racing with JMW Motorsport and bringing home the best results possible. James (Walker) joins the team this season, so I'm sure that he'll be keeping me on my toes and that we'll be a formidable partnership in LMS. With the support of Dunlop we are ready to take up the fight and battle it out for the GT2 title, although I'm expecting a very competitive GT2 class."
The 2011 Le Mans Series season begins this week at Paul Ricard. The blue riband Le Mans 24 Hour event takes place in mid-June.
