Rob Bell Welcomes Support of PMG for 2011
13th July 2011
Leading British sportscar driver, Rob Bell, welcomes the support of PMG for his 2011 sportscar racing campaign. Bell will carry PMG branding on his helmet, throughout the racing season, including the Le Mans Series events and the famed 24 Hours of Le Mans which he will compete in from June 11 – 12.
Newcastle-born Bell is contesting the Le Mans Series and 24 Hours of Le Mans with JMW Motorsport, driving the new Ferrari 458 GT2 race car. In the team's first outing with the car last month, racing in the opening round of the 2011 Le Mans Series at Paul Ricard, Bell and his team mate, James Walker, took a well-deserved victory.
Mike Roberts, Managing Director, PMG, comments, "We're pleased to be linking with Rob for 2011 and hope that he has a successful season. Our support for Rob allows us into the inner sanctum of sportscar racing and the chance to offer exclusive hospitality for our clients at some of the events, which, together with the branding, offers a good return on our investment. Rob is a great ambassador for us as well; he is an excellent host trackside and always looks after us really well at the races."
Bell says of PMG coming on board for 2011, "I am delighted to have the support of PMG for my 2011 season and hope that I will have a successful year, with plenty of exposure for the PMG brand. My racing programme offers PMG the opportunity to network and build relationships through their presence in the paddock and I am sure that they can capitalise on this as the year progresses. I also look forward to seeing Mike at the Le Mans 24 Hour race."
Double Le Mans Series champion Bell has raced in sportscars for over six years. He started his career in karting, graduating to single seater race cars in 1998. Over the next seven years he moved up the ranks from Formula Vauxhall to Formula Ford, through Formula Renault to the Renault V6 European championship, winning the Formula Renault winter championship in 2002, as well as numerous wins, podiums, pole positions and fastest laps. Turning to sportscars in 2005, Bell has competed in all the top events – Sebring 12 Hours, Daytona 24 Hours, Petit Le Mans and 24 Hours of Le Mans.
